Why is the printer skipping labels or print content across multiple label?

by connor zhao on August 09, 2020

There are two main reasons why printer skips labels or continuously feeds.

This behavior usually happens after you change your label type, size, or label manufacturer.

1. Your operating system is sending a longer / shorter label to the printer. You need to do Paper Settings.

Please ensure you have the correct label size:

For Windows, Click [Start]->[Devices and Printers]->select the printer driver->right-click[Printing Preferences], Here we take 100x150 setting as an example.

For Mac, Please select 100mm x 150mm or 4" x 6" size in the print prompt window

Note: The application you are using (i.e. Adobe Reader) could be over-riding your driver label setting and sending the

print in a larger / smaller size to the printer. Look for "Page Setup" or "Paper Size" in the print prompt and ensure that

it is set to the size you want.

Click and see the video of HOW-TO.

2.The printer hasn't learned your label [The Most Common Reason]

Please run the paper calibration following below steps so that the printer can learn your label correctly.

Paper calibration

① Press and hold the paper FEED button on the printer.

② While pressing and holding the paper FEED button, turn on the power switch.

③ When the indicator light flashes RED twice, release the button immediately, and the paper calibration is completed.

* You need to do the calibration again every time when you change a new paper size or paper type, or the red light

flashes during printing.

Click and see the video of HOW-TO.

If the label identification does not work or the red light remains, please turn off printer using the power switch on the

back and then turn the unit back on and repeat the above steps.

I am wanting to print 40mm x 60mm and have calibrated however I have had to put in custom size and it’s not printing in landscape. I’m confused about printing off chrome as I use MAC. I have downloaded chrome to use however when opening file to print it is in preview not adobe. Most of your examples are purely for printing shipping labels however I was under the impression with all the different paper sizes available that anything can be printed?
Is there a program that I can load my artwork to print? (for example Avery has their own) do these custom labels have any template program?
Thanks
